The Graphics Designer will design and produce art for materials required for promotion of product lines or for other corporate services projects as needed, including sales, marketing customer support and public relations.​

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design work, layout and manage graphics projects.​

Reviews artistic design strategy and requirements with internal clients and/​or management;

Conceptualize graphics required for project, and produces sample layouts.​ Edit and modify based on feedback.​

Consult effectively with client or supervisor to evaluate individual project needs.​

Recommend standards and parameters for usage of approved graphics, and monitor usage adherence.​

Direct photo shoots and convert digital graphics.​

Develop pictures using 2D software tools and complete programming to produce graphics required for publishing to print or to web applications.​

Manage designated projects from start to completion;

Produce work independently as well as oversee outside agency work and in-house staff as necessary to complete the project effectively.​

Research illustrations, photographs, and text to plan presentation of material, product, or service.​

Select, supervise, and obtain cost estimates for approval from outside vendors such as photographers, illustrators, paper suppliers, or printers.​

Prepare cost estimate for project within quality specifications, financial constraints, and time schedule for project.​

Prepare layout prints for supervisor or client and presents samples to supervisor or client for selection and approval.​

Review final layout and suggests improvements as needed, and presents final layout to supervisor or client for approval.​

Maintain graphics and image resource files.​

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design

3-5 years experience with printed materials, including brochures, flyers, ads, etc.​

2+​ years experience in web design elements

Solid experience with design software; internet software; spreadsheet software and word processing software, as well as PhotoShop, QuarkPro, Adobe Suite, Flash, Web Objects, QuickTime Pro, Freehand, Final Cut Express, Aperture, and any other enterprise software or program necessary to perform the job

Good eye for layout, type and color

Ability to integrate supplied and/​or stock photos and illustrations with text

Organize fairly complex and chaotic source materials into simpler, integrated, coherent printed piece

Understand readability issues in typography.​

Montage photos attractively, knowing when to use various effects.​

A talent for creating unique and practical design elements which are also effective from a marketing standpoint

Understand color separation, optimization of scanned images

Experience creating web-based content and design
